The 2022 Goyang City Forum, which was held from October 24th to the 26th, concluded successfully. Under the theme of "A Sustainable City Growing Together with Citizen,” this forum, in which Goyang City organized and participated, took place both online and offline with approximately 3000 citizens and both domestic and international experts in the field of urban regeneration, development, environment, and lifelong learning. Together, they shared Goyang City's vision and direction of policy making.
In this forum, a multitude of domestic and international experts participated, including the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Korea, a Professor from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, a Professor from the Wellington School of Architecture, Victoria University, experts from international organizations such as OECD and UNESCO, Sustainability Consultant from Mott MacDonald, and other domestic and international specialists.
After concluding the sessional local tours on the 24th, the opening ceremony took place on the 25th. During the opening ceremony, congratulatory remarks were delivered from Won Hee-ryong, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Han Junho, a Member of the National Assembly, and Jordi Vaquer, Secretary-General of Metropolis.
Following the opening ceremony, Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang, emphasized that the city, which acts as an organism, should undergo continuous changes and growth collectively, evolving into a sustainable city for the well-being of citizens, under the theme of "The Future of the Sustainable City and City for Citizens, in his keynote speech.
